“The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate? Moony, what in the name of Merlin’s crusty toenails is this?” asked Sirius, derisively squinting at the cover. “‘Mate,’ is that some werewolf shit?”
“I told you, it’s a Muggle book. I think it could help James. Listen, this bloke says there’s five ‘love languages,’ and they’re different ways of showing your love for someone depending on what’s important to them: physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, gift giving, and acts of service. Our boy has been doing none of these, and look where it’s gotten him. He’s got to woo her.”
Love languages, James thought, sounded about as woolly as divination, but if they somehow helped him win Lily over, he’d do anything. He’d even probably attempt to fight the giant squid. Not bare-handed, though, he valued his life, lovelorn as it was.
OR—Lily has been unimpressed with James' efforts to win her over, so he tries a new tactic. A Muggle one.

Poe winked. “Because I am. Now, Rey, all you have to do is slap the ass of the next person who walks in the door.”In which Rey, an omega on expired blockers, slaps the ass of one Ben Solo, an alpha unable to take blockers, and then proceeds to play heat chicken. The heat wins.

Draco looked up from his desk, side-by-side with hers, and she tried to slow her heart at the sight of his reading glasses and the slight silver at his temples. He wore age like a fine wine, complex and heady and expensive.
She couldn’t afford him ten years ago when they’d started working together in International Magical Cooperation, and she still couldn’t now. Whatever currency the market for his affection operated in she didn’t have.
“Doing anything?” he drawled, leaning back in his chair and stretching his arms behind his head, showing off biceps that still made her mouth water.
“I’m not sure I want to,” she confessed.
OR—in one conversation, they cross the room.

She stood over him, a glorious vision in lime green robes and sentient frizz. Just like always.
“Say the word, and I’ll take you on a date, Granger,” he replied, mustering his trademark smirk despite the pain of two cracked ribs and a burn on his shoulder.
“Malfoy.” Her rebuke was half-hearted as she set to work peeling back his dragonhide armor.
Draco Malfoy had few regrets in life—other than the years he’d spent being a bully and a prat, his brief stint as a Death Eater, and a particularly horrifying night in his Manor—other than those times, his biggest regret was that the only times Granger had ever seen him shirtless, it had been because he very unsexily needed her to heal him, and never from a romantic ailment—like tuberculosis.
OR—Draco attempts many times to woo Hermione. She is (mostly) unconvinced.
