Summary
They stepped in closer, shoulder to shoulder to catch the akuma as she landed, but she twisted in midair, landing squarely in front of Cat Noir, swiping at him. He stepped back, trying to keep his balance. Her fingertips almost touched his face, and Ladybug felt her stomach lurch.
“Duck!” she yelled to him as she whipped her yoyo around. He did, but unfortunately, the akuma woman did, too. Ladybug suddenly had no target to latch onto and lost her balance. Her stomach twisted again as she pitched forward. Black hands darted forward to catch her, but too late she realized it wasn't her partner. Cold gloves caught her shoulder and neck, then slid up her face, brushing past her earrings. Cold. The woman's touch froze Ladybug's breath in her throat.
Then there was something warm around her middle. Cat Noir's shout sounded distant as he pulled her away. As the woman's black gloves left her face, Ladybug felt even more heat being pulled from her, along with... something else.- Language:

Summary
Marinette is a "professional paid intern", or as she called it, a go-fer. Not exactly what she had in mind when she started working for the Agreste Fashion line. But, it paid the bills and got her foot into the fashion industry, so she couldn't complain. On occasion, she even got to work with Adrien Agreste, Gabriel Agreste's model son. He was also good friend, and long ago crush from high school.
Adrien still modeled for his father. Even though protecting the city of Paris with Ladybug was his real life ambition, it wasn't like Adrien would ever be able to stray far away from fashion. His father would simply not allow it. Being the heir to all things Agreste, Adrien put in his time, but never second longer than he ever needed to.
One particular photo shoot lands Marinette the title of Adrien's handler for the day. On set drama and a zillion camera flashes later lead the duo to reconnect in the best of ways while working so closely together.

Lila's threat is slowly coming to fruition. Mme. Bustier's class has isolated Marinette and, while the rumors and bullying hurt, she doesn't expose the liar. That's what Adrien asked of her, and she keeps her promise, all the while praying that something would change.
But by chance while listening to music while working on homework, a song from an American musical leads her to ask for help, and discover that she's a lot less helpless against Lila than she thought.

Inspired by I'd Rather Be Me from Mean Girls.
In which Sabine and Tom take action to help their daughter, Adrien realizes he messed up, Caline misinterprets some things but tries, Chloé just wants Lila to stop, and Marinette is just kinda along for the ride.
There will be salting of Alya, Mme. Bustier, and Lila in here, a dusting for Nino and Adrien, and a pinch for the class.

She hadn’t really let herself think about it. She always figured she’d meet someone at some socialite party, probably a friend of her father’s to maximize the political benefit.
