Summary
Devil Hunting has never been the most consistent fields of employment, his brother Dante is more than aware and used to that. Vergil however had very little foresight into more than the next day, let alone the next week. He finds himself avoiding his kin after his misdeeds, managing money worse than his sibling, and realizing that perhaps devil hunting is not enough to sustain himself. One day he makes a decision to wander into a store to make some poor financial decisions and winds up with a brand new job behind a register for a very strange woman, because absolutely nothing in his life could be completely normal, could it?

Summary
Aventurine nods, curiously waiting for Ratio to elaborate. Is Ratio planning to read to him? That is the sort of activity Ratio would consider leisurely, albeit rather mundane. Still, Aventurine muses, Ratio does have a pleasant voice, so it wouldn't be so bad.
With a determined nod, Ratio extends his hand expectantly, the other hovering over the book he had placed on the ladder earlier. After a moment's hesitation, Aventurine accepts.
As Ratio's hand touches the book, Aventurine feels a sudden lurch, and that's all the warning he gets before they're falling.
Or:
Veritas Ratio possesses the unique ability to enter the world of any book he touches. He uses it to take Aventurine on not-dates.
