Harry Potter comes home from school one day to see a sandwich and a book waiting on his cot. His book says that magic is real, and if magic is real, then fairy godmothers must be, too. She may be shy, and she may be invisible, but she brings him books and marks his homework and writes scathing letters when he does something dangerous, so he knows she loves him, and he loves her too.

Summary
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry crouched on the mountain over the lake. The windows were bright and glittering, like they’d taken the stars and trapped them behind glass, and the towers and turrets reached towards the actual stars in the sky like fingers of a giant. It was huge and wonderful and it made the nerves in Harry’s stomach leap into his throat.
For the first time since Hagrid had knocked down the door to that tiny shack and told him the truth about his parents, about himself, Harry started to believe that maybe this was real — really, properly real — that he was here, he would learn magic, and nothing could take it away or make him go back to the normal world ever, ever again.
Then something reached for him out of the black of the water.

Summary
As Lady Galadriel had warned, after hearing the cry of the white gulls, Legolas' fate has been irrevocably set. He will cross the Great Sea and finish his ancestors' journey to the Undying Lands. However, forces beyond even the Valar decide to intervene in the form of an elven child. Haerelion of Greenwood is a 'bright star' expected to herald in a bright, new Fourth Age. But more importantly, Haerelion is set on diverting Legolas’ destiny and opening the elf’s eyes to see a world beyond the Call of the Sea, the Valinor, and the fatalism of the Elves.
Whether Legolas will see it or not, he is beholden to more than just the Sea. And Haerelion, in turn, will learn that he too may be more bound to its Call than he realises.
