Jayce laughs, leaning against the balcony beside Viktor. A little… closer than he's comfortable with, but then again, he shouldn't be uncomfortable with it. He's not sure why he is. Jayce has always been a little overly-friendly with him, and unlike other Piltovian's who do the same, it's never bothered him. So he tries to ignore the fact that for some reason, tonight, it does. Just a bit.
"You're insufferable."
"Is that why you brought me here? Does doubling up on suffering cancel it out or something?"
or; Jayce drags Viktor to a New Year's Eve gala. After being separated by the masses, they happen to reconvene on a balcony, and end up sharing a little bit more than just their resolutions for the next year.

Viktor blinks, eyes darting toward the scarf (hung neatly on the coat rack next to the lab door) that he has worn every day since Jayce had given it to him. "Another one?" Viktor asks quietly, sounding bewildered.
"Another one," Jayce confirms. He decides immediately that he will do this again next year. And the year after. That he and his mother will continue giving Viktor gifts until he stops looking confused at the idea of anyone wanting to give him something.
Five times Jayce knitted something for Viktor, and the one time Viktor crocheted Jayce something in return.

As it turns out, spending the night together might be the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
