It was hard to open his eyes. They were weighed down and glued shut. But it was the feeling of that too warm soft body on his that pried them open. He didn’t remember this man, but his body surely did. The dirty blonde hair stroked his face; it was a golden frame around the breath-taking painting that was this man.
A magnetic force was pulling him to stay beside, to brush his fingers over the dirt on his cheek, muscle memory was making his fingers twitch. But not the strongest magnet could pull the asset from his one purpose, nothing could pry him from the grip he didn’t even know he was trapped in. So, he printed an image in his brain, maybe something to grip onto when the pain would slowly pull him under again, and he left.
