Jason's family is bankrupt and desperate, so they foist him off to his newly-rich best friend's family. He wishes he had the courage to tell them 'no' sometimes. Still, better Ziya than someone who doesn't care.
Leo is dead. Not much else can be said about that, except that he was murdered by the woman who was supposed to love him. But being dead is better than being married to that frigid bitch.

Based on the Corpse Bride, set in the modern era, and centered around Leo Valdez and an OC from my HoO rewrite (the series this is posted under, though this is not connected to that series).
