Summary
Smell is an interesting thing, as far as senses go. He learned in undergrad anatomy that it’s actually responsible in part for encoding memory, and it’s a powerful trigger for it. Alex has experienced this plenty of times; his mother’s perfume reminding him of their years in Texas, his father’s cigars. This time, with the smell of this room, Alex is hit square in the chest with the memory of short blonde strands of hair sliding between his fingers, a perfect mouth opening against his own, a smooth accent curving a dulcet voice that whispers into his ear. Alex is spinning suddenly, as though he’s in midair and falling, and the nostalgic feeling in his chest is replaced with something far more intense and less pleasant. Alex steps backwards suddenly out of the room and slams the door shut, his breath shuddering and fast, and he rakes his hands through his dark curls as he storms off down the hallway.
Alexander Claremont-Diaz returns to the White House the first day of his presidency, intent on carving a new future for America and laying the ghosts of the previous administration to rest. He stumbles on a ghost of his own, one that's never quite stopped haunting him since the summer of his mother's second campaign.

“Feed me,” Tyler whines from his position on the floor, Gerry in his arms and Marshall dozing at his feet. It’s a familiar sight, one that Jamie had got used to seeing over the years, but between the compressed season and everything going on with Tyler’s injuries, he hasn’t seen it for a while. It looks a lot like home and that—. That’s a little terrifying.
“Feed yourself,” Jamie retorts. Not his best work, but Tyler’s pouting at him, still ignoring the buzz of his phone and—. “You should really answer that,” Jamie says, fingers stroking over Cash’s fur.
“Nope,” Tyler says. “I shouldn’t.”
“Ty—”
“It’s fine.”
Jamie eyes him, wondering if he should say something, if he should push Tyler to make a decision, but in the end he leaves it alone.

Just as the last car is passing them, Prince Charming makes a snuffling noise and Eddie freezes, still pressed on top of him. He’s suddenly aware of every single place they’re touching, and Eddie thanks the brutal Chicago cold - there’s no way he could pop a boner when it’s this freezing. God, he hates himself.
The man opens his eyes for a moment and looks directly into Eddie’s eyes. Eddie’s mouth hangs open. He tries to smile, but he doesn’t think he achieves it. Instead, he swallows and says:
“Merry Christmas.”
The guy passes back out without a word.

Dr. Kaspbrak, at Richie’s confession, cracked a smile that was quickly smothered by a carefully contained expression. “Is that right?”

"You're Nolan Patrick, right?" The guy presses on whether he gets an answer or not (he doesn't), "Bro, it's sweet we get to play together. You're fucking sick; your stick-handling skills are off the charts, my man, this is gonna be so sweet."
Nolan can fucking feel the vibrations of Travis stifling a laugh, but of course Travis isn't going to throw him a rescue line like the fucker that he is. All Nolan can really do is stare blankly -- his first choice of words are highly inappropriate and he smothers them into an unintelligible mumble.
