Monoco’s station was just as it had always been, Gommage or no. The painted curves of it flowed and trailed, one long brush stroke after another. The snow stayed, and so did the grandis, the gentle petals of iron, the curve of playful trains.
Only Monoco had left. Only they had changed. And then they’d returned, and for what? To scavenge the chroma of corpses long gone to rest? To scrape the paint from a hundred abandoned creations?
Verso was tired.
“Yes,” he said, “I could have saved him.”

FUTURISTIC AU
ALL HUMAN AULong into the future, people live to incredibly old age with the help of quite new cloning technology. At the Institute ‘products’ are created. To some they serve as spare parts, to others they become long longed for children. The government and a small majority of the public have silently accepted the ethically questionable industry.
Alec Lightwood works at the Institute because he has no other choice and helps as many of the children there as he can. Knowing that due to his badly ailing health his time to do so is incredibly limited. When a chance to save the life of a little girl named Madzie comes, Alec runs. Leaving behind everything he’s known for the child he’s looked after since she was created. On the way they run into Magnus, who has secrets of his own.
Will Magnus manage to help them? Will they survive until they make it to safety? And what happens when unwanted feelings make themselves known, complicating matters further?

Jace blinks, peering at the loft in vague stupefaction. “This,” and Alec’s parabatai’s voice sounds like he’s dragging each noise out from his exhausted mind and forcing it out before he can forget what word he just discovered. “Isn’t the Institute?” The final phrase comes out as a question.
Alec tilts his head in puzzlement, glancing at his brother as if wondering how he could possibly consider that Alec had taken them there instead of here. “No?”
Alec’s head moves back to level and he narrows his eyes instead. “We said we were going home after patrol.”
The ‘ergo, we are home now’ wasn’t said, but it was obvious in implication.

He comes to a halt a few paces in front of the Clave representative and the guardsmen she’d brought from Alicante. A coiled leather whip hangs from the belt of the man at her left shoulder.
Shoulders drawn back and hands clasped behind his waist, Alec meets Imogen Herondale’s steel gaze. The words are ritual and although Alec has said them many times before, never before has he meant them less.
“That it may please the Angel to bring back into the way of righteousness all such as have erred, I place myself before you for Discipline.”

Happy stepped in front of Peter, "Are you here on your own accord?" He glanced at Tony with clear distrust, which was slightly fair in all honesty. Peter kept his face bored, raising an eyebrow. Happy faltered for a second before doubling down. "I mean it, I will take you home right now, we can call May." It struck him funny, how no one had any idea how much his world had warped upon itself in such a short time.
How long would it have taken them to notice May had moved, to notice how Peter's world was burning down around him if he didn't fuck up?
"Thanks, dude," the nickname would have gotten a scoff or some light threat in the past, but Happy only watched him. "I can make my own choices, grown man rights and all that. But A for effort, stepping in for the little guy." Peter made his words sharp, clapping sarcastically.
"Peter, I owe you a massive apology, I just need you to-"
"Don't give a flying fuck, keep it." He threw up a peace sign, shoving his hands into his pockets again as he wandered towards Tony, unbothered. Stark was watching him with an expression that told Peter that he didn't recognize him at that moment. But Peter didn't care, they could both eat dirt. He was done with them.

Hobie had gotten used to the death threats long ago. It kind of came with the territory of publicly opposing President Osborn's fascist regime. It had long since become repetitive, most of them wanting to shoot him or whatever. They all said the same shit, and none of them ever did anything about it.
But there's that old saying: “You have to be lucky every time. We only have to be lucky once.” If you’d asked Hobie, he would say he didn’t believe in luck, it’s just preparation and opportunity. None of those keyboard warriors ever had the balls to actually plan an attack, let alone attempt it. But eventually, one of them was prepared to carry out the revolting plans he’d detailed on a white supremacist forum. And despite the Spider Army affinity group’s best efforts to protect their beloved Spider-Punk, along came an opportunity.
Imprisoned in a basement upstate, Hobie has lost all hope. He knows he's going to die here, not as a martyr for the revolution, but as a victim of his neo-Nazi captor's violent fantasies.
Not if Peter Benjamin "Noir" Parker has anything to say about it, though.
