Summary
I think way to much about Jake's childhood, so I decided to write about it.
"His favorite thing is when he’s at Sal’s with his dad. Sometimes they barely talk, at least not about anything remotely interesting. But there are also times where Jake actually feels like they’re bonding. Those moments make him forget every time Roger has let him down, and the fear he will never stop letting him down."
Also I myself experienced neglect, and only recently came to terms with it, so I'm projecting. (I lied I have not come to terms with it)

Summary
He traded his badge for a diaper bag, only to be blindsided by Amy's affair with a high-flying federal agent. Jake has spent the last year rebuilding his life from the ruins of his marriage. He's worked hard to ensure that he is the best version of himself and still the best detective that the 99 has ever seen. But he is completely unaware of new forces and new challenges that he will face as he navigates his new normal.
-- re-writing my first fan fiction, as I felt the story was too rushed.

Summary
Season 4 finale codas.
It's been years since I worked on these fics, but now I've realized that Brooklyn Nine-Nine, despite having progressive representation of people of color, women, and the LGBTQ+ community, still reinforces propaganda about "good cops," shifting the blame of bad policing to "bad apples" instead of critiquing the system as a whole. I think these fics also reinforce that harmful notion, implying that the system can be fixed from the inside by good cops. That is something I no longer believe, since I've learned more about policing in the United States. I'm not going to go back to these fics and edit them, but I want to acknowledge the cop propaganda of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and therefore, any transformative works associated with it.
