Summary
Depending on which roommates would be away they’d go to either one's house so they would have the living room to themselves. Today they were at Nana’s place since Katelyn would be at work all day. Both were on the couch, swaddled in a blanket together with a few snacks nearby (mainly cupcakes), and one of the many anime Nana was rewatching illuminating the dim room.
The current scene was at an interesting emotional point. The main protagonist was remembering all the moments with their crush and coming to the realization that their crush had liked them back all this time. Though Zane found himself struggling to take it seriously.

It's been years since all the crazy stuff happened. The lodge, starlight. It’s been years. With time, things slowly healed and went back to normal. The injuries, the relationships, the memories. With due time things become normal again. But most wounds, especially deep ones, always leave a scar. Depending on how deep the wound is, determines how visible the scar is. Surface level cuts, tiny little scratches, the most they can do is leave a faint mark you have to squint to see. Deep cuts, gashes, torn flesh, those scars tend to be thick and painful even years later.

Summary
Growing up Zane never thought too fondly of things like kissing, let alone girls themselves. Even as an adult after college, he gagged at the idea. He remembered a few years ago, when Nana was only Kawaii~Chan, and she was with Damien. The horror Aphmau described to him during one pony date of theirs made him feel sick. How she described Kawaii~Chan and Damien as two ravage animals, how they joked that she had killed the poor man by devouring his face. Back then he thought the same way, grossed out by the idea of the affectionate display.
Now he sat there pinned under that same girl- the real her- wondering if he was about to be devoured too.
