The elders scheme again, deliberately sending the first year students on a mission ranked higher than they can handle, all in a bid to try and kill Yuuji. Only this time, Nobara and Megumi get caught in the crossfire. Yuuji blames himself, the usually upbeat teen breaking down and admitting some hard truths, and all Gojou can do is hold him through it all.
The teen is hunched over, knees drawn up to his chest, arms wrapped around them tightly. Gojou isn’t prepared for what happens next, when Yuuji looks at him with eyes brimming full of unshed tears and says, “Do you hate me, Sensei?”
How could he ever think Gojou would hate him? The question makes the sorcerer’s heart clench painfully, and before he knows what’s happening, he’s moving to sit on the sofa and pull Yuuji into a crushing hug.
