The Archivist approaches a door, a dark thing made of thick wood. Almost soundproof, nearly perfect to consume. A low grumble rests in his gut. He's hungry. The Archivist looks at the nameplate on the door in front of him. It reads “Head Archivist J. Sims”. A hand twists the doorknob, pushing it open so The Archivist can eat.

Summary
In the summer, roses bloom. Bright, cheerful and full of color. No one minds the thorns they bare, it's just a pretty little thing to look at.
Then the fall sets into fruition, and petals wilt. Suddenly the rose's thorns are more noticable. They turn the rose ugly, as time does itself. A rose only grows it's thorns as a line of defense, to protect itself.
