“What is it, Ivan?” Aleksander said, impatient to get back to Alina.
The heartrender swallowed. “There’s been an incident, sir,” he told him, a slight tremble in his voice.
Aleksander tensed. “An incident?”
The longer Ivan hesitated to respond, the more anxious Aleksander became. The Little Palace was the safest place in Ravka, he himself had made sure of that. There weren’t supposed to be any incidents.
