The leg does not seem your leg, does not seem attached to the body that does not seem to belong to you. You’re sure it is someone else’s leg, cleverly folded beneath the jaundiced torso that was beneath the head that also cannot be your own. You looked out at the world through stolen eyes; now you look down at the hands assigned to you. They’re covered in dried mud and blood and motor oil.

Sammy stared at Ben as he made the order, noticed the dark bags under his eyes, the sagging of his shoulders, the way his voice cracked, subdued and so, so tired.
The first night back, Ben hadn’t been able to stop crying. He’d thrown himself at Sammy the second they met in the school parking lot, clinging and crying and getting snot all over Sammy’s shirt. Ben had told Sammy that he loved him more often that night than Sammy had ever heard those words at once.
But since the next morning – since they saw the carnage that was their radio station, since they saw Chet in the hospital with a breathing tube down his throat, since they saw Cecil Sheffield’s condition slide from bad to worse, Ben had practically stopped talking altogether.

Weathering the pain as he was drawn to his knees, arms twisted up behind his back, grunted at the pain of strained joints. Grunting again when his head was yanked back by the hair so he was looking up at Stromburg, who’d moved from around the desk, leaning against it.

This story sprung from my obsession with Bucky in the Dulag as well as the scars on Buck's cheeks. I've seen in other comments that Buck and Bucky were apparently held at the Dulag at the same time, in real life? So I thought, if that's so, why not take advantage of that fact.

“I’m sorry,” John eventually manages to gasp out into Sherlock’s neck, made wet with a sticky mixture of snot and spit and tears. “I’m so sorry.”
The apologies quickly become a mantra, the only words able to be forced out of a tear-thickened throat, and they’re both painfully aware that the seemingly endless tears aren’t their cause.
“None of what happened is your fault,” Sherlock replies, voice gentle and firm as it drifts down from where his head rests on top of John’s. “Not one bit of it. You did everything you possibly could.”
“Then why wasn’t it enough?” John asks once the tears have dried up, silent sobs still shaking his shoulders even as he finds his voice again. “Why did she still die?”
John has been plagued with the same nightmare since The Andalucia.

Jayce only briefly noticed his Hammer was slipping away, even though no sound followed of his weapon hitting the ground. He heard Viktor muttering something. So, now he would meet his end. He approximately had one minute left before blacking out. He gasped for air, pushing and fighting as much as he could muster until the spots colored his entire image black. Ringing in his ears, his hearing still intact, blood rushing through his veins, his heart hammering in his chest. His muscles no longer worked properly.
Jayce couldn´t stand upright anymore, he felt his knees giving out. The robot choked him, holding him upright the only thing standing in between him remaining vertical or collapsing into the dirt. To make matters worse, Viktor continued his incoherent talk about Jayce’s health whilst the robot kept on squeezing the living hell out of him.
So much for consistency, I suppose.
‘However, I am interested in speeding up your recovery, Jayce. I will make sure you rest as long as you need to and that you actually take time to recover fully, Jayce. No more distractions, no more council obligations. Not feeling pressured.’ Viktor concluded, his fingers touching Jayce’s jaw, working up to his forehead. (S2E6)

Guilt itched in his throat at the thought but was soon interrupted as a conspicuously loud gurgle brought his attention to the sharp discomfort in his stomach as he, for the first time since long before Jayce had brought it up, recognised the disagreeable sensation as hunger.
