“And I don’t even know why I came here…” Thomas muttered.
“I know why I’m here,” Hamilton quipped, answering the rhetorical question. “Because you put that damn flyer on Washington’s desk.”
“Oh, shut up, this is extra work on a weekend. You’re loving this.”
“Are you kidding? I could’ve been on a weekend getaway with my wife and kids in Maine!”
As another wave of pain assaulted his skull, Thomas heaved an exasperated sigh. “Then why are you here, Hamilton?”
The silence was deafening.
Hamilton’s response, when it came, was uncharacteristically subdued. “Just open your damn phone, Thomas, and I’ll call Madison.”
On a company trip to a conference, Jefferson suffers an intense migraine. It's just his luck that Hamilton is the only one around to help when the pain reaches its peak.

No. I did not, in fact, forget him. I make sure to write to him often, and the worry does consume my being everytime a response takes longer than usual. But, I understand that our young nation is still way too fragile to even dare the thought of battle.

“Aren’t you ‘posed to ask those qu’stions before you start moving y’r patient?” he slurred, stumbling against Lafayette’s side from the effort of speaking.
“Aren’t you supposed to be compliant to friends trying to help you through a major head injury?” Lafayette shot back, though he couldn’t push down the flutter of relief that Alexander was still able to be an asshole.
Or, Hamilton gets a concussion and Lafayette just needs to keep him talking.
