With a self-satisfied smirk Zoey leaned on the counter, wiggling her eyebrows at the barista, “Hey.. Rumi, you got any cream pies for us?”
The barista blinked at her for a moment before glancing at the display of pies, “Oh. I’m sorry, we don’t have any cream pies today, but I’ll make sure we have some tomorrow if you wanna come by! Is there anything else I can get you instead?”
And the situation would be funny— hilarious even, if not for the fact that Rumi had said it with so much sincerity that it would be straight up rude to laugh at her adorable oblivion.

Rumi stood there, patterns pulsing red, her hair disheveled and sweat dripping down her face. But the most surprising difference was her sharp fangs, drool dripping from her teeth like she was some starving animal.
Slowly, Rumi began moving towards Mira and Zoey, heavily panting as she eyed her girlfriends, caging them in with her eyes before she could finally sink her teeth into their skin. To finally taste what she’s really been craving all this time.

Rumi smiled at her, soft and lovingly, readjusting the guitar on her lap, “You don’t count as others. You’re Zoey.”
Saying that without even a hint of uncertainty— easy and without hesitation like it was something obvious. Obvious like the sky is blue and the grass is green, just like it’s obvious that Zoey is special enough to be allowed to see Rumi like this— open and honest, just undoubtedly herself.
(Not obvious enough to realize the words would hit Zoey right in the chest like one of cupid's arrows.)

“Stop, that tickles!” Zoey whined, her giggles very obviously meaning the opposite.
