Summary
How did he really feel? Was he simply replacing one inspiration for another? That didn't seem right, wasn't an adequate enough description for the situation. Follo wanted those dark eyes to follow him. He wanted those lithe hands on his skin, peeling back the layers of his being. He wanted to hear the quiet laughter, pull a rare smile to his lips. He wanted the praise, wanted to be seen as worthy by the cleaners, by his cleaner.
A crush. He had a crush on Zanka of all people.

"You're up," comes a familiar voice from the side, and Follo gasps in surprise, like he's still a kid or something. The sound is strangled and he lifts his head to look at Zanka. The younger Cleaner is lounging in the visitor's chair, his elbow propped up on the bed while he offers a smile.
Or: Follo doesn't have a guardian angel but he does have Zanka.

He wonders if it makes more sense to Kazuki and lets out a sound somewhere between a bitter laugh and a sob. It probably doesn’t. How could it, when whether or not he just walked into the ocean to die was left up to the whims of someone who’d actually told him to do so?
Soushi doesn't understand anything about his relationship with Makabe Kazuki, nor does he understand why he let those words come out of his mouth.
