My first Hans fic of the KCD2 era. A prose & poem study of Lord Capon’s changing understanding of love and obsession with (his own) death, dragged out into the open by the extraordinary violence that is by knighthood demanded of him.
Also, a resurrection of KCD1’s original incarnation of Lord Capon: ferocity, honest and joyful; the mania of privilege; the cage of youth; and true love above all.

Summary
During what was supposed to be a relaxing hunt, Hans encounters a threat he is wholly unprepared for. Just when things seem most dire though, he's saved by an unexpected champion: a lone wolf. Once the danger's passed, the beast even leads Hans to safety before mysteriously vanishing.
Normally, Hans wouldn't think much of it. But now, he can't stop seeing the wolf everywhere he goes. The creature seems to be stalking him; to what end, he can't decide.
The one thing he knows for certain, however - Henry is nowhere to be found.

Summary
Henry fights like a man possessed, at first it throws Hans off, intimidates and maybe even frightens him. But as the lord and blacksmith grow closer Hans sees the ever starker contrast between the two faces Henry wears, helpless against being drawn further into his thrall.

Summary
Snow rested heavily over the town. The streetlights were few and far between and seemed to cast more shadows than light. But the moonlight above reflected on the untouched snow and illuminated the night. Snowflakes drifted down in large clots, and faintly, Hans could hear the hum of the refrigerator.
It was late, and it would be a few more hours until sunlight spilled over the region. But as Hans sat there at his desk with his knee bouncing, even with how heavy his eyes felt he couldn’t look away from his computer. His heart rate remained steady, but as he reviewed his post over and over again, the temptation to delete it grew stronger and stronger.
This terrible feeling of guilt. This welcomed shame that clung to his nerves and made him shaky. He had only himself to blame but it’s become too much.
How did he become so pathetic?
