    This is an AU in which Pei Ming caught the special attention of the Heavenly Emperor before Xie Lian did, and it did not go better for him than it later went for Xie Lian.
    Pei Ming was the Martial God of the North who fell from Heaven. He got scars on his face, as permanent as memory. He was the tyrant of a vast but short-lived empire and ascended as God of Revenge. He fell a second time for an act of kindness. He became the nameless soldier, who recognizes his lover under every guise. His lover is Gray Shadow Chasing Sun, one of the four Great Calamities.
    And then Pei Ming reunited with his lover and ascended a third time, as God of Love.
