Summary
An attempt at a soulmate identifying marks situation for Rings of Power but with more agency for everyone all the time:
It began as an arrow, appearing when a child understood that things existed beyond their sight and could be searched for, and when it occurred to them to ask “where” to aid in the search.
An elf child at sixth months after birth might wonder, “Where is Ada? Where is brother?” And the arrow would appear, dark or bright, on the back of their small hand. It would point the way, showing them where to go until they met the absent loved one. When the question was answered and gone, the arrow would fade too. The same might happen to a dwarf at a year old, or to a child of men past their second year.
Later, when hands grew larger and eyes sharper, when questions grew more complex, the arrows were replaced by the shifting maps of adulthood.

An in-game story showcasing the untold moments beyond the cutscenes, shuffling and tweaked the narrative juuust a little bit to help fill some of the gaps and plotholes in the original story.
Rook Ingellvar's journey began as a rogue child raised by the "village" of the Grand Necropolis, drifting from house to house and eventually from town to town. Her path led her to the Lighthouse, where she now stands as the new leader of the Veilguard. But the arrival of the renowned Professor Volkarin, Senior Mortalitasi, along with Varric’s unexpected presence, leaves Rook wondering if her eagerness to lead just wrote her a check her ass can't cash.

Summary
When Peter realises that he sees Tony as a parental figure, his first reaction is guilt. Followed by the uncertainty of how- or if- to tell Tony this.
Because how did you tell someone that you saw them as a dad? How did you tell them that they were one of the most important people in your life? And how did you tell them that you were afraid, if that truth was out there in the universe, spoken, they would be taken away from you too?
And then Peter begins to fear that the universe has heard him regardless.
Tony, meanwhile, is just trying to keep his kid safe.
