That’s fine.” He shifted the baby in his arms, looking down at the tiny, squirming face, the damp lashes clinging together. “You hear that? As long as you make it to the sect, everything’s good. Easy quest conditions. No trauma required.”
Luo Binghe made a faint snuffling sound, unimpressed.
Shang Qinghua’s smile collapsed almost instantly. “Oh, gods, what am I saying?” He scrubbed a hand over his face, leaving another smear of drying blood. “I’m not qualified for this! I can barely keep myself alive half the time! You need—uh—you need a responsible, kindhearted woman from a humble background with good soup-making skills, not a chronically overworked peak lord-slash-spy!”
The baby responded by making a small, gurgling noise that sounded alarmingly like agreement.
“Don’t sass me,” Shang Qinghua muttered. “You’re, like, twelve minutes old.”

Dick signs Bruce up. Clark signs up willingly. They accidentally match up and even for the World's Greatest Detective, it takes a while to figure it out. In part because he isn't trying to figure it out, that's the whole point! But also because Boy Scout Superman is definitely straight and definitely not a dude who hangs out at a farm in his free time.
And Superman is confident that Batman probably lives in some random cave system like the gremlin he is, and doubts he even HAS a secret identity because he is so consumed by his Batman persona. As the curse worsens, Shen Qingqiu finds that distance between him and Luo Binghe begins to freeze him slowly. Literally freeze, he is at risk for hypothermia for not being right next to the guy who probably wants to turn him into a stick!
Wait—what do you mean Shen Qingqiu will also lose the ability to lie!? That's an integral part of him not being unceremoniously sent back to the life where he’s already dead!

Do not go near Wei Ying.
The words are clear and concise, etched neatly into the unyielding stone of Gusu Lan's wall of rules by Grandmaster Lan Qiren himself. It's unmistakable too, having the Wei character for ghost and Ying for infant - Clearly meant to allude towards one specific person living in the Cloud Recesses.
For a long time, Lan Jingyi has always taken Grandmaster Lan's chiding of him "not upholding Gusu Lan conduct appropriately," with some measure of practiced aplomb. Years of being under Hanguang-Jun's careful tutelage has taught him that there is more to being righteous and moral than mere writings on the wall, and Jingyi has learned to shrug off the more arbitrary reprimands of his home Sect.
But as he stands before the Discipline wall, he doesn't think he wants to do that this time. To simply shrug it off and let it go. And from the carefully concealed frowns on his fellow disciples' faces, he suspects that he might not be alone in his sentiment.
