Summary
"Firstly, she didn't state that we both needed consorts," Wise started, waving his hand around as he found some twine in his drawers. "In fact, she said 'consort'. So if we take that literally, which we will, that means this decree is only applicable for one potential partner." He hummed when he found what he needed, and he started rolling up his letter. "Secondly, she never specified who's hand."
Lighter listened intently, but after Wise finished speaking, it only took a few seconds for realisation to set in. When it did, it was quickly followed by utter disbelief.
”You didn’t…”
Wise gazed at him from under his silvery lashes, and despite his smile, his eyes remained firm and steadfast, like the high and low tides of the ocean; coming and going as nature intended.
"No wonder Her Majesty was so angry with you." Lighter shook his head, brows pinched in equal parts exasperation and frustration. "You're planning on staking your own hand in marriage."

Due to circumstances, Wise has been forced to offer his hand in marriage in a tournament. Lighter is vehemently against this arrangement; more so than he really should. And he doesn't know why.

In front of them, a fissure appeared, a dimensional fissure shimmering like a black hole in the fabric of reality. It was small but undeniable: a gate leading out of this hellish place. The Bangboo turned toward it and began to lead the way, glancing back to make sure Asaba followed. Asaba hesitated, his jagged form trembling slightly.
"Are you sure?" He asked, his voice soft and uncertain.
"Are you sure I can... come back?"
The Bangboo paused. Then, in a voice that was resolute and filled with warmth, it replied:
"You can. But you have to want to."
In a realm where nightmares blur the lines of reality, a voice calls out—beckoning one soul to step through the darkness and find his way back to the light.

Summary
"How did it get there?" Wise questioned aloud. "It wasn't there before." He traced his fingertips along the edge of the rose petals, as if he were manually mapping out routes on the soft, supple surface like he would a Carrot. He looked over at the other customers, but they all their backs were turned to him, either perusing the shelves or talking with their companions. "Did you see anything?" He turned back to Lighter.
Lighter opened his mouth but after a few seconds, snapped his jaw shut. "Don't think I did, no." He shrugged.
"But why?" Wise stared at the rose, as if it could tell him exactly who placed it next to him.
Once again, Lighter shrugged, but something sparkled in his verdant green eyes as he tilted his head to look directly at Wise, his sunglasses slipping a fraction off his nose.
"Maybe someone just really likes you," Lighter grinned, flashing his canines.
