Kafka sounds a little confused. Ren couldn’t blame her. Her expression shifts back into bland, unassuming patience.
“Angels,” she muses. “A symbol of purity, innocence, goodness… Sometimes mercy. Sometimes even death itself. It’s not so surprising that you’d dream of one, A-Ren, but you seem to dislike the role that angel played. In your dream, it seemed to be…mm, a symbol of forgiveness. Do you detest the idea of being forgiven that much?”
(In which Ren tries to live a normal life, avoiding that certain being that keeps a close, unsettling watch. This might have something to do with what happened during his stay at the mental health facility.)

The truth must be that Idrila, his Aeon, the one he sees in his dreams as a perfect disk of inky blackness sitting at the center of nearly every galaxy, is simply hiding somewhere, and everyone thinks they’re dead because they just don’t know where to look.
“Wherever you are, I will find you,” Argenti vows to Idrila, with the roses in their plant beds and the scattered stars beyond to be his witness.
Somewhere, there is a vast ocean lit by no sun, and its currents flow ever inwards.

“I don’t even care enough to bother trying to fight with you.”
“You’re always trying to fight,” Kaeya tells him, and does not elaborate.
It’s not true. Like usual, Kaeya’s just talking out of his ass. Diluc is perfectly level-headed. Diluc is perfectly under control. Kaeya’s the one who needs to reign it in, who needs to get himself together, and Diluc would tell him exactly that—if he was looking for a fight. Which he is not.

When a simple mission in Dragonspine goes south and leaves Kaeya injured, it falls on Diluc to get both of them back home in one piece. If he manages not to murder Kaeya himself, of course.
