Summary
With both suitcases in hand, Simon looks around and follows the arrows telling him where to go. He walks down a weirdly flat automatic stairway —there aren't any actual stairs on the damn thing, which turns out to be quite good considering his heavy luggage. Simon can’t imagine what it would be like if he had brought everything he needed with him on the plane. A lot of his equipment has already been shipped over to Ms. Persson’s house, where Simon will be staying for the next year.
It hits him, again, that this is real. That Simon truly packed his things, left his mama and his sister behind at Stockholm’s airport with more than a few stray tears, and flew across the ocean in an uncomfortable seat for way too many hours, only to land in Montréal. Where he will be staying for the next year.
Because Simon moved halfway across the globe to live with a billet family to play hockey.

Or, an AU where Simon moves in with a host family when he gets chosen by a new hockey team, halfway across the globe. While he gets along with his host parents, their son isn't too happy about this new living situation.

They haven’t held hands before, and Wille marvels at the way Simon’s hand fits in his, the smoothness of his skin a stark contrast against the callooses he has most probably developed from rowing. Or at least, that’s when Wille’s appeared on his own hands; he wonders if Simon can feel them, notices them as much as Wille notices all the little lovely bits of the smaller hand holding his.
It doesn’t take them long to arrive at Forest Ridge, the building standing tall in the dark february night.***
