Summary
Remus sat on the even dingier old couch waiting for the knock. His hand rested near the stain left by the firewhisky Sirius spilled in shock after James announced the pregnancy. His eyes locked on the record player in the corner and he wondered if he should dig out an old Bowie record. A letter from Dumbledore laid on the coffee table and, once again, Remus' life has been altered.
When the knock finally came, Remus wasn't sure what he was feeling. His hands shook with anxiety, his stomach remembered the butterflies associated with being in love, his thoughts were stuck in an anxious loop, his leg bounced with excitement, and faintly he felt an old anger coming back to the surface.
Finally gathering his Gryffindor courage, Remus opened the door to find a shivering black dog looking up at him. This he could handle. He always knew what to do with Padfoot. He bent down to scratch behind the dog's ear for a moment before saying, "Welcome home, Pads."

Summary
“There are nights where I don’t really dream, or at least, not that I remember, you know?” Sirius continues. “But I can’t remember the last time I dreamt about something that was good. Something that made me happy.”
Remus’s heart beats unsteadily in his chest, because this, strangely enough, is not something he can relate to. Remus does have good dreams, on occasion, and a great many of them feature the boy with whom he is currently sharing a couch. He’s done his best to shove them to the back of his mind, whenever he wakes up from them. He relegates them to that ever-expanding box of Sirius-related memories that would be better off forgotten and moves on, only now… Sirius is right beside him, prodding at the box with long, aristocratic fingers, and Remus can feel the lid beginning to slip.

The Full is drawing near and Remus isn’t feeling good, Sirius takes care of him.
_________________Sirius tips his head back after a minute, cheek resting on Remus’ shoulder, a small smile on his face. He asks: “How is it?”
Remus can’t resist kissing him then, just once, on the lips. “Good.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes.” Remus kisses his forehead next. “Thank you. Thank you, my love. You didn’t have to.”
