    “Hardly,” Hannibal replies, trying hard not to laugh. Will’s answering glare is rather lovely. “Incapacitate, yes. Nonetheless, that is a rather interesting point, considering you’ve tried to kill me.”

    The fingers on his shoulders clench down enough to hurt, but Hannibal doesn’t flinch. “Exactly. You aren’t allowed to die unless it’s by my hand.” Will growls. The dark, possessive undertone to his words hit Hannibal’s lungs like a sudden crack of thunder.

    Alternatively: Set after Randall Tier and before the Vergers show up. Hannibal gets mugged on the way home one night, resulting in some rather superficial injuries. Cue one very angry, very jealous Will Graham and a night that changes the game between them forever.
