Summary
At the start of Tom's Fifth Year at Hogwarts something happens that has never happened before. A transfer student comes to Hogwarts. He is scarred from what looks to be magic. Everyone was excited to see if he was interesting being new until he was sorted into Hufflepuff. To make things worse when classes start he only takes three classes that were typically mandatory. The rest of his classes are electives. So people begin to ignore him as being barely above a squib. Until one of the 7th Year Gryffindors decide to escalate their bullying of him by attacking him with magic and he uses an unknown form of magic to defend himself.

Summary
Harry is done with everything and especially Mab's manipulations by the time he is made to repay her debt to Nicodemus. At this point in his life, all he wants is some peace and quiet. He didn't want to be apart of this in the first place. So he stops fighting as he normally would and that gets attention.
Nicodemus expected anger and constantly fighting with Dresden to keep him under control. But it seemed that Dresden lived to surprise him. If anything he seemed resigned to his fate. He didn't mouth off like Nicodemus was used to and it immediately set him on edge. Nicodemus decides to keep him back to figure out what happened.

Summary
Time between White Night and Small favor are only a few short months. Lash survives the events in the Raith Deeps, but Harry's psyche takes a nasty blow.He isn't given the chance to recover before he is thrown into a conflict between the Denarians and Marcone. The mental wounds from White Night still throbbed with each heartbeat and reverberated through his fractured psyche. Still he is forced to get involved when his owed favor is called in.
Nicodemus's original plan was to use Marcone to get the Archive. Until he saw how dreadful Dresden looked as he tried to negotiate Marcone's return. Plans changed. The Archive wasn't nearly the prize that Dresden was. Especially now that he was vulnerable. So he turns his plan from capturing the Archive at the Aquarium to capturing Dresden.

Summary
When Nicodemus captures Harry and put his under running water it washes away his scent blockers. Being so close to an alpha and being in distress pushes Harry into Heat early. When Nicodemus offers Harry, Lasciel's coin he smells it. He mates the wizard but he still escapes and avoids Nicodemus for a time. However when Marcone and Ivy are kidnapped he agrees to willingly go with Nicodemus if he releases them.

Summary
Being forced to join Nicodemus in a heist is not Harry's idea of a good time. Normally he would do everything he could do to annoy and get in Nicodemus's way. However instead of sending Harry away like he does with the other including Karrin, Nicodemus keeps him close. Harry is given the chance to actually have conversations with Nicodemus without the usual time constraints. This leads to an understanding and some interesting realizations.
Nicodemus decided to keep Dresden close when Mab decided to send him instead of one of the other Fae. While he wanted to get into Hades' Vault he realized this might be a chance to turn the wizard to their side. Dresden had come the closest to killing him a few years ago than anyone had in centuries. He knew that Dresden did not want to be the Winter Knight so he might just be able to use that to his advantage. Carefully he will prod Dresden into it.

Summary
Something that Nicodemus has hidden over the years, is that when a new host picks up a Blackened Denarius coin they are bonded to the first older Denarian they come into contact with. When Harry picks up Lasciel's coin, Nicodemus was there to ensure it was he who Harry was unknowingly bonded to. Nicodemus stays in Chicago and watches the wizard struggle with the new instincts drawing him to the Denarian.
Harry doesn't know what's wrong with him since he's picked up the coin. It's like there's a voice in the back of his head and it's driving him to someone- or something. Fighting against it is almost physically painful. The worst part about all this is that he doesn't know why.
