Being sent to live with Lily Evans? That’s torture.Fifth year explodes after the lake incident, and the adults decide the Marauders need a “positive influence.” Lily disagrees. Loudly.
But grudges don’t stay inside school walls, and when Snape reappears where none of them expected him, the week spirals into something far worse than suspention.
Or in fifth year all hell breaks loose. The Marauders are having fun bullying Snape by the lake. Snape calls Lily that one slur. The Marauders, including Snape, get one week of school suspension.
What will happen when the Marauders spend their suspension at Lily's and see Snape at a local pub?———————————

Summary
In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them. The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.
Other consequences are not short-term at all.

I was watching the Chamber of Secrets movie several years back when the scene in question began to play...and immediately I wanted to know what would happen if the wand had done what it was supposed to do. The answer got very complicated, very, *very* quickly.Blame Edgar Allan Poe for the title.
