He can't really say it when Robert's awake. It’s this… mental block he has. He’s too bad at verbalizing his emotions. Locks up. He’s said it—six times, he thinks?—while Robert was conscious. Sonar was, of course, drunk-and-or-high each time.
It’s—well, Robert doesn’t seem too upset about it so far. He seems to understand Sonar’s whole thing.
