Summary
Around Dandy's World end, before the center was shut down, an idea was hatched to switch up the show. Things had grown stale, and perhaps something new was needed to keep the audience distracted. Glisten, previously a semi-unimportant side character, would be a 'villain' for a time, causing strife and trouble amongst the Toons.
The issue? Glisten had no interest in hurting those around him. The solution? He didn't actually get a say in it.
Sprout is left the only Toon knowing the truth; Glisten's not a bad person, and he isn't getting a say in any of the awful things he does. However, he can't fix everything, not when the staff know Sprout know. That means he needs a third party to solve the mystery, before Glisten gives up entirely and gets himself scrapped.
However, his only option seems... not quite there.

Summary
The other Toon paused for a moment, before nodding politely, grabbing his cane and slowly standing from the bench. Glisten took the bit of time to start moving, but the egg still interrupted.
“Pardon, I do just have one request, before you go.”
Don’t stop.
He stopped, pulling Rodger to his side. “Just the one.” Glisten echoed. “This is a bit time-sensitive.”
“Of course,” the egg smiled serenely. “Could you tell me my name?”

Glisten and Rodger have amnesia. They don't know who they are, who they're supposed to be, or anyone around them. They're lucky enough no one else has noticed - because surely the people around them are responsible for this affliction. Gardenview isn't safe, Toons have secrets, and until they figure out how to get out of there, it's better no one knows.
Unfortunately, their escape plan gets cut short by the arrival of a certain holiday month, and an elderly Toon that seems insistent on trying to 'help'.

Summary
Glisten bit down his protests, the plea building in the back of his throat he refused to allow to surface. He would be acknowledged if he earned it. Walking along with Rodger wasn’t anything particularly special. It was Rodger, with the map, Rodger, who could actually do the machines, and-
Rodger, who was no longer walking beside him.
His steps faltered, stopping on the cold concrete. He swiveled, but only darkness was visible around him, a few flickering lights in the distance that illuminated nothing but empty space.

A small group of Toons enter an elevator for a very short expedition. The elevator fails entirely, falling down to the lowest floor of Gardenview, long-abandoned and infested with Twisteds. Glisten and Rodger are the only two capable of venturing out and hopefully finding a way out. It is extremely important they remain healthy, and they both know it.
Glisten isn't very good at trying to be a leader.

Summary
It felt as if someone had reached inside it, piercing through his torso, and simply began squeezing. Rodger grabbed at his shirt, as if the feeling was something he could grasp and pull from himself. He wheezed, trying not to choke on the bile that tried to rise in his throat.
What… is this?
Similar sensations ran through his head, as he rapidly tried to piece together what was suddenly wrong with him.
The split-second where Pebble bit down onto him, where he felt his leg get crushed and burst between the Twisted’s teeth. The moment he’d seen one of the heavy bookshelves tip over, and simply allowed it to collapse on top of him, shattering his face and ending him on impact. Goob wrapping his arms around him, the Twisted squeezing until he was nothing but dripping liquid in his hands.
None of them were correct, and he shook his head fervently to taper the illogical sensation of panic that washed through him.

Rodger and Glisten have been stuck in a time loop for a very, very long time. More often than not, they die to reset the loop early. This changes nothing. In a time loop, nothing happens.
Quite a shame that it seems to be killing them anyways.

Summary
Rodger pulled them out of sight. Not towards the elevator, not towards safety, but towards a side room, stumbling heavily. Glisten wanted to scream. What is he doing?! We don’t have time!
Ignoring the growing urge to pass out again, he opened his mouth to protest, knowing full well others were waiting for them. He would be scolded enough as is, he didn’t need-
A loud, deafening clang sounded through the floor.
Rodger, with hands that burned Glisten’s skin when touched, now, opened a darkened, dripping door, pushing them both inside, and forcing them both into absolute darkness.

After a horrible chain of events, Glisten and Rodger are left behind. The rest of the team has to deal with the fallout of causing their deaths, in varying ways.

Summary
The small, purple diary sat firmly in Glisten’s hands, perfectly locked with a small heart clasp. He stared down at him, willing his expression to hold firm, even as he felt it gradually melt and shift with the dawning knowledge of what he’d been given.
He didn’t need to look into the mirror at his side to know the despair showed on his face, as Rodger, the one that had handed him the horrible gift, moved closer to where Glisten was sitting at his vanity mirror. The detective gently pried the diary back from Glisten’s cold, golden hands.
“My apologies,” he murmured, voice low. “The opportunity presented itself this morning, and I had no avenue of refusal.”

A universe where it was decided Dandy's World needed more drama before things properly aired, and Glisten was their prime candidate for a more severe 'antagonist' than Shrimpo. Rodger intervened on his behalf, and ended up with both of them as dual antagonists meant to make things worse. Failure to comply results in punishment; not for themselves, but the other.

Summary
Glisten frowned, tilting his head. “Seriously, what happened with him?”
When Rodger had died to Goob the last time, it had sounded perfectly normal. He’d done it plenty of times before, and Goob was a consistent death. A squeeze, then a pop. Easy. Nothing that would be upsetting.
Rodger looked away, hands clasped far more tightly. “Nothing happened, like always.”
The mirror sighed. “Then I’m going to just have to assume you don’t like hugs, Rodger.”
“That’s perfectly serviceable. We can go back to the candy, now.”

Or: Trapped in a time loop with no clear indication of how to get out, Glisten and Rodger are a bit detached from things. They die often, and on a whim. After all, if they wake back up regardless, nothing happened, right? All of it might as well just be a game. It'd be the most enjoyable anything could be anymore.

“I think Teagan’s really mad at me,” ‘Glisten’ fretted, tugging on his bow. “I was late to her tea party, a-and I didn’t have a good excuse, and I think I really messed up! What am I supposed to say to her?”
The handler, a woman, her dark hair falling in front of her face, smiled gently. “That’s no problem at all, we can fix that. Did anyone see you come and find me?”
“N-no! No, no, I was careful,” he fumbled, tensing up with a flash of panic in his chest. “I was careful!”
He was shushed, gently.
“No need to raise your voice. C’mon, I’ll help you out.” The Toon Handler took his hand, pulling the Toon away with her.
Glisten opened his eyes, cutting whatever connection he had with that… fake.
“That one’s dead,” he hummed, dully, staring into the darkness in front of him. The lightbulb in the room had finally given out, a week ago. It would have lasted longer, had he listened to Rodger’s advice on rationing it. “Good, I hated that one.”

In a situation where Rodger and Glisten are no longer desired as they are, they are tossed out. Still needed for their ichor, they get to stay in a storage closet. Far away from anyone else.

Summary
Snippet of a universe where Gardenview is an organization of certain Toons with viable powers to stop crime. When the time comes that crime in their residing city is eradicated, a new problem unveils itself in the form of two new villains. Fortunately, Gardenview has two Toons perfect for the task of stopping them: Rodger, their ever-dutiful detective, and Glisten, their relatively newest addition as his assistant.
Unfortunately, they've been encountering some difficulties getting truly anywhere on their investigation.
After all, one can't quite arrest themselves.

Back then, he couldn’t have helped, dragged away and held in chains. Now, he can open his eyes and there are no shackles on his wrists, no weights to his feet, nothing to stop him from doing what he might need to do.
Everyone who could get out got out, but that wasn’t where the problem ended, was it?

A brief moment of hope, a thought that the arrows and jeers and shouts will stop the moment they’re out of L’manberg.
A brief moment of choking before Wilbur realized there was an arrow through his throat.
