    Todoroki Touya was burning. All he could see were flames engulfing the mountain around him. Flames eating away at the trees, the ground, the sky. Eating away at him.

    How ironic, he thought. Going out at the hands of his own gift. It didn’t feel like much of a gift anymore.

    A flash of muted yellow and eyes so blue that they rivaled those of his father filled his hazy view. What…was going on?

    This is how it happens, the spark:

    One day on the streets Rei meets an old college friend, who looks at her too-thin face and darting eyes and asks very gently, “Rei-chan, are you okay?” And Rei, who has not seen any of her friends in years and years, gets a stress breakdown right there and then.

    (There is familial solidarity and there is also Being the Eldest. Fuyumi knows conflict diversion and Dabi knows spite, and together what it means is this: mess with Shouto or Natsu or Rei, and you may find your apartment smelling of burning, and all your houseplants mysteriously frozen.)

    (Todoroki Rei leaves her husband's house. There are job interviews, panic attacks, two very unexpected neigbours and one Midoriya Inko. On rebuilding a life, and making sure the kids are alright.)

Now taken hostage by Hawks, he’s left to stew on his vengeance and eat pistachios as he tries to figure out how to get out of this little predicament – but times running out as the quirk slowly has him turning into a bird mentally as well.

    Surviving a villain attack, he sees this as a second chance and works to be better for his thirteen-year-old son Enji, and properly support him.

    Enji, after witnessing his father almost die, aims to become a strong Hero to stop situations like this from happening again.
