    That night--or, very early morning--Shouta unceremoniously dropped into the bed, narrowly missing falling on top of Kan.

    “I’m glad you didn’t decide to be stubborn and try to sleep on the carpet again,” the man said.

    Shouta let his head fall to the side, staring at Kan flatly. “I can still change my mind.”

    “No, no, I’ll shut up,” Kan chuckled, miming a zipping motion over his mouth. Then, he grabbed the edge of the blanket, throwing it over Shouta.

    “For future reference, I’d rather be the little spoon than have you hog the blankets,” Shouta informed him calmly, before turning to lie on his side, back to Kan.

    He hadn’t expected his bed-fellow to immediately sneak his arm around Shouta’s waist, but he wasn’t going to say anything. If Kan already knew he was a blanket-hogger, Shouta could appreciate him being proactive.

    Shane returns from the showers to find the locker room far more animated than when he left it. Everyone has their phones out, and when he sees Shane coming, JJ says, “Câlisse, Hollander, about fucking time! Ilya Rozanov got caught kissing a man.”

    After the tuna melt debacle, but before Rose, Ilya makes the reckless decision to go to a gay bar to take his mind off of Shane. When photographs get published, Shane has a realization and devises a plan: he's going to ask Ilya Rozanov to marry him.

    Ilya's going through enough without things he can't have being dangled in front of him. He needs to figure out a different way to avoid going home, because eventually Shane Hollander will realize what Ilya already knows: Ilya isn't worth what Shane wants to do for him.

    “No, Ilya, stay.” The last word came out as a whine.

    “Why is he calling you Ilya?” Pike asked.

    "Why is he asking you to stay?” Hollander’s mom followed.

    Ilya shrugged. “How would I know?”

    Hollander lifted his arm out, as if reaching for Ilya. “Because I want him to stay.” It was said in a tone that seemed to say, 'obviously'.

    “Shane,” Hollander’s dad started. “Um- what’s going on? I thought we hated Rozanov.” He seemed to realise what he’d said and glanced at Ilya. “Sorry.”

    “Is fine.”

    "No, I don't hate him. I love him."

    Cliff's jaw was firmly hanging open, and he didn't think it was going to move anytime today. He felt as if he'd been punched in the stomach, all the air ripped away from his lungs.

    "Am I dreaming?" Cliff muttered to himself.

    Pike let out a strained laugh. "I think someone spiked my coffee this morning."

    (cliff, ilya, hayden & shane's parents visit shane in hospital after the incident. a very drugged up shane cannot hide his feelings for ilya)
