Summary
Hank has stopped thinking about his place in the world for a long time. Old, washed-up cops don’t live exciting lives. He just does what he always does: cracks cases, drinks whiskey, and goes home to Sumo.
But then the android sent by CyberLife shows up – disarmingly curious, intentionally uprooting all the familiar aspects of Hank’s life, and he jumps headfirst into an android revolution. Barrels into cases like an unstoppable storm.
Halfway through, Hank realizes he’s no longer at the sidelines of his life.
And that Connor makes it better. All of it.
[Or alternatively: an episodic glimpse into the life of Hank Anderson and his partner Connor. Takes place after the revolution, happy ending included.]

Even though Fane might be a grumpy, snarky skeleton from a bygone age, Aralene and the other Godwoken are quick to discover that he has an excellent way with kids. There’s a story behind it, of course, one that Fane only remembers in fleeting moments, made of half-truths and memories.
Until the very end, when there really is no chance for redemption.

Summary
The tension within Aloth gets another meaning when he recalls the Watcher out on the battlefield, her teeth brilliantly white against the steel of one of her weapons, tongue darting out to swipe a drop of blood off the blade.
That fine line of devastatingly beautiful but dangerous.
Aloth wants to be there suddenly – desperately, to walk that line and find out where it goes. What happens if he twists his hands into her shirt, draws her close, and kisses that dangerous mouth. If he follows her not with his spells but with his hands and his body and his tongue. What happens if he pushes his hands into her hair and stays there, kisses the tips of her ears like daggers, draws her into him as much as she’s drawn him into her.
[Or alternatively: Aloth barrels into having post-battle sex with the Watcher. There’s love involved.]

Summary
Syl curls a little closer, twining her fingers in his beard and pressing her nose against his shoulder. “I love you,” she sighs over the rise of his breath, so low it can barely be heard.
It just sinks right into the steady stream of sound; the water against the stern and bow of the ship, the creaking of the wood, and the birds in the sky. All things she had to get used to, and here beneath her hands…
Syl sleepily rubs her head against the back of his neck.
The one person I love the most.
[Or alternatively: Syl wakes up one morning, and rides Beast under the rising sun.]

Summary
In Skyhold hangs a painting that depicts two women in love.
Two of the strongest, most resilient, most vulnerable, and most remarkable women in Thedas.
One of them hates ballrooms with every fiber of her being, and the other isn't too keen on bowing to nobility. But they defeated Corypheus together, so the least they could do is accept that invitation and waltz the night away. And they discover that dancing might not be so awful after all.
[Or alternatively: in which there are beginnings, endings, and a dance. But perhaps all of it was a dance all along.]

Summary
“I’m yours,” Evelyn says next, almost bashfully, hands balling into fists but unmoving beneath Cassandra’s fingers. Her body surges up and forward a bit, pressing back into Cassandra’s unyielding stance.
“I surrender,” she whispers, and then all the tension leaves her completely.
It does something very unexpected and new to Cassandra, having the most powerful woman in all of Thedas at her mercy.
[Or alternatively: in which the Inquisitor feels anxious and insecure, and Cassandra fights her over it.]

Summary
It starts with poetry, because of course it does.
It starts with candlelight and whispered words, their bodies unarmored and close together in a nest of pillows atop the Inquisitor’s bed. An evening of laughter and light teasing before. Easy and smooth, in the steady rhythm of the fast friendship they formed after the Breach.
And yet there is a tantalizing energy every time their fingers brush, or when either one of them leans close.
[Or alternatively: in which the Inquisitor tries to get Cassandra to call her by her name rather than her title.]
Series

Summary
Cassandra always expected romance to be easily noticed and explicit.
She didn’t expect romance to show itself in the details, the side-notes. In the way the warmth of a hand felt or how a smile could light its own fire in her heart. She didn’t expect to be afraid of it, and she certainly didn’t expect the things she learned from her books and from the world to hold her back.
To stop her from seeing what she could have seen coming, had she been more attentive to the details.
[Or alternatively: in which Varric releases a new book, bets are made, and Cassandra realizes she's been in love with the Inquisitor ever since they met.]

Summary
If Sara narrows her eyes, she can almost see him in the shadows at her left side, in the gap that’s been there ever since they came to Andromeda – Scott, the setting sun in his eyes, leaning forward against the railing. The curve of his jaw jutting upward as he smiles in her direction; gentle, kind, not wanting for anything but this.
It’s lovely, isn’t it, Sara?
[Or alternatively: when Scott wakes up, Sara, Jaal and Scott have to navigate their way around complicated relationships while the kett threat grows.]
Series

Summary
Sara feels weightless against him, drawn in by the magnetism of his blue eyes; mesmerizing nebulae against the starry scenery of dark space. Orbiting around him like a shooting star, losing parts of herself in the process of drawing closer to him, yet hurling closer to his center nonetheless – he’s her home, her grounding force in the uprooted landscape of her mind, the gravity that will always pull her back to where she belongs.
[Or alternatively: Sara breaks down, SAM and Jaal pick up the pieces, and the showers are thoroughly used the day after.]
Series

Summary
Lightyears away from where Sara was born and grew up, a gap of almost un-traversable space; a gap during which she lay asleep in her cryo pod like some sort of Sleeping Beauty with a big gun, and he was eventually born into the arms of the Resistance. Yet somewhere in the fabric of time and space, weaving between the strings holding the universe together and bursting forth like a gravitational slingshot, there was a tiny possibility of them meeting. Of them connecting, energy blazing under his skin, seeking contact; of lonely heavenly bodies colliding and finding common ground in a desolate place where you can barely tip-toe through the stars.
[Or alternatively: Jaal is gone on a mission and Sara is lonely, but SAM suggests an effective solution.]
Series

Summary
Because against the backdrop of space, against the glowing stars and passing comets, against gas giant planets in the distance and moons surrounded by rings, against the vague shadow of an asteroid belt – Sara sees them. Bodies entwined, their skin aglow, the space between his hands on her lower belly emitting a faint light; his head tilted towards hers, lips hovering over her ear. Space paints them, gives them color and mass as if they were a blank canvas.
[Or alternatively: promises are made, movie night happens, and things happen after.]

Summary
Sara knows that nothing will ever feel quite like this – like the birth of a new star, like the light distorting around a black hole, like a nebula exploding, like the big bang pushing forth the entire known universe – but at the same time, this is standing at the helm of new horizons. This is the rush, the excitement, the new and the yet familiar, the hole in her soul finally filled with wonder, beauty and love.
[Or alternatively: Sara and Jaal have a mind-blowing first time on Aya.]
