    Once the envy of the world, the city of Acheron now lies in ruin, gripped with violence and death. Fanatic revolutionaries control the palace, a virulent plague scours the streets, and the gods have disappeared into the high branches of their holy tree, leaving the mortals to their fate. In the sewers, a resistance movement takes hold, led by the former consort of the Vizier, working to restore order and save the city from destruction.

    A chance encounter sees the human leader of the resistance thrust together with the crocodile goddess of death. Joined by circumstance, bonded by loss, they will fight for the fate of the city, from the highest branches of the pantheon to the deepest reaches beneath the earth. Conspiracies will collide. Armies shall clash. Even the heavens may fall. . . .

    Takes place in the same universe as Abandoned. Reading the first story is not required, though it is recommended.

    This world resembles our own. The flora is green, the sky is blue. The buildings tall and the animals aplenty. Yet it is anthropomorphic Pokemon, Digimon and Pals that take residence in their own handcrafted houses, and have since ages wondered to themselves the meaning of their existence, being creatures that resemble the others who live amongst them, yet act in a more thoughtful yet often violent way.
    Now, set in modern times, the concept of their existence takes center stage more than ever. Especially inside the mind of Gabriel, an orphaned child raised with the care of his adoptive mother, who soon will have an opportunity to get to know and research the critters that he grew up obsessing about, all the while juggling the past struggles from his parental figure, his current struggles with his friends, and all of what his future entails.

    Some became heroes or villains, given the right power to forge their own destinies as they wished.

    Others, the powerless, became victims, doomed to perish, at the mercy of the cruel world filled with mystical powers they are unprepared for.

    A lone man that woke up alone under the alien sky was neither of those.

    He didn't get to choose what he was going to become - a disaster, an unwilling source of intelligent, yet violent monsters, rapidly rising in numbers. Stranded in a foreign land, without even knowing the language, his creations may be the only company he would ever find.

    He wasn’t powerless. But was he really that much better off?

    It just took one wrong power.
