They stayed there for a couple of beats, the tension rising while the warmth in Eddie’s stomach grew. He blew out a breath, trying to think past the fuzziness in his brain before he finally looked up to meet Buck’s eyes. He stared back at Eddie with the picture perfect face of innocence, but his eyes, his pupils swallowing up his irises told a different story.
Eddie leaned back against his seat, his head lolling lazily to the side as he watched Buck, letting the silence persist while his hand stayed over Buck’s, his chest was rising and falling heavier than it had a minute ago, his mouth felt dry and his thighs kept flexing, holding onto their little stand off by a thread of dignity he still had. “Thank you.” He whispered, “For today. For having my back. Thank you.”
Or: Buck was training to be the next captain of the 118, becoming Eddie's superior, older than him by 16 years, that doesn't stop Eddie from lusting after the man, and it sure as hell doesn't keep Buck away from him in return.

Eddie swallowed harshly, "Buck-"
That's what he needed to snap out of it. A quiet but resounding “Oh” reverberated through his skull. He swallowed down the remaining bile and anguish, grabbed his keys from his pocket out of pure impulse and searched for the key that had felt so big when Eddie first slipped it into his palm. It didn't feel big now, it felt small as it kept slipping through his shaking fingers.
"Buck, what-"
He slid the key off, smacking it against the kitchen island and turned on his heel, marching out of the house.
Eddie didn't follow after him.
That felt more clear than anything Eddie had tried to say to him.
Or: Buck confesses his feelings for Eddie, Eddie reacts poorly and then clears up some things. They figure things out together.

“Mafia.” Dr. Sol corrects, “I don’t know what they want from you, I just know of them. Now please, you must go back to L.A. Your pack needs you.”

After seven months of being presumed dead, Buck comes back and finally reunites with his family.
Now that he’s back, Buck makes it his mission to change things along the way. It’s easier than ever now that his pack knows the truth — or so he thought. Apparently, a supernatural world can make a world of a difference, and new threats are coming out of the shadows.
It doesn’t help that he feels like he’s constantly forgetting something, or that Chimney is hiding secrets of his own.

Buck takes a moment, almost like he isn’t sure if he should speak.
“Why couldn’t you ask Shannon?”
It’s a simple question, really.
A simple question with a slightly complicated answer.
But it’s the little detail that throws him off.
So, instead of answering he asks: “How’d you know her name?”
After the sacrifice that saved (another) world, Buck wakes up to a world similar to the one he's spent seven years in.Everything is the same, really.

“Uh — maybe?” He says, because that was a better answer than telling him that he got very curious one day and looked up exactly how to hot wire a car — ending up on some very suspicious websites and feeling so paranoid he didn’t look at Athena in the eyes for a week — but he never actually had to do it.
So, theoretically? Yes.
Realistically? They were about to find out.
Or: After being awoken from cryo-sleep in space, Buck must help Eddie search for Christopher in a post-apocalyptic world.

Watching everyone he loves slowly and painfully die.
Hearing them beg and listening to them grieve and scream and watching them tremble in fear.
It’s not about him falling in love over and over.
It’s about witnessing everyone he loves being tortured and having to face their worst fears.
Or maybe it was just him that was doing the torturing, since his mere existence seemed to cause chaos all around him.
Or; After dying (again), Buck wakes up as a teacher at the 118 Elementary School and must navigate his new life while also grieving his old one.
Of course, nothing is ever that simple.
