I am so hungry but no food is reaching my mouth. I am so thirsty but every sip of liquid is rotting down my throat, drying it out with each attempt even more instead of bringing the longed-for redemption. It is so cold but no flame of the fireplace is able to burn my skin and I am so tired, I am even sleeping for an eternity now. I wonder if the punishment won't end up being my salvation in the end and yet I also dare to doubt whether the actual end will ever come to lead me out of all of this. Who can assure me that everything will not be started from scratch once I've lost the last piece of myself?
