"This ISN'T a laughing matter, you know," the young woman gritted. "YOU broke into the queen's sleeping quarters. And when this kingdom's safety is hanging in the balance, I promise you, you do NOT want to find out what I would be willing to do, to COUNTER that threat."
Jack Frost blushed, staring down at his handcuffed wrists.
"Sorry," he choked.
"Alright. Thank you," she sighed, sitting back in the chair and reaching for the tablet and parchment on the table. "Then we're going. To try this. Again."
Looking back through the bars of the icy jail cell, the girl suspiciously eyed the Youngest Guardian as he stood before her, glancing up and down his gangly frame as she considered her next question. Picking up her quill to dip it in the inkwell and then place it onto the parchment once again, she leaned forward an inch, gazing with intensity into his eyes.
"Okay, young man," she started quietly. "Who sent you?"
"Santa Claus."

Jack Frost had enough of it until Bunny of all people came to his help. What would happen if he would suddenly see Elsa again after all these years, even if things aren’t what they used?
Would she still remember him?
Would she still believe in him?
He just hopes there aren't any consequences with messing with the Space and Time continuum.

For Elsa—lessons contain phrases like arranged marriages, contain discussions of the complexities of navigating a political world where alliances are built first and foremost on the precious ink that no one is ever willing to share; where the marks on one’s body can sing and screech like a weapon in the wrong hands, wrong minds, wrong kingdom, wrong bargainer; where destiny can be altered as leverage, can be made into sacrifices in the shape of cunning betrothal. A world, where, somehow, there are some words that were never intended to lie, and still the ravenous twist them, taint them, curl them for their own.
The lessons on arranged marriages are perfectly perfunctory, of course. With things as they are now, her parents would never agree to such a thing. It’s for the best, that her words have not yet appeared; for the better, perhaps, that she should never receive them at all.
Meanwhile, Jack's words hint that he may or may not possibly be under the divinely destined threat of future jail time.

All their lives, Jack and Elsa have clung to their humanity to be included, to stay safe, and to protect the ones they love. It's hard to explain being lonely even when you're no longer alone. Will a chance encounter bring these kindred souls closer to being known.
OR
Elsa definitely died in Autohallen and became an immortal spirit. She was also expecting another being like her and would have to deal with the blow of there being no one once everything settles down. I also think she's super powerful and we only see her scratch the surface of her abilities. Jack is the guardian of fun but his magic belongs to a very brutal element and I like the duality of his character in contrast with the other guardians.
This is a slow burn Jelsa fic because it takes a hot minute for them to meet. It is Canon compliant so they're not meeting until after the events of Guardians and they have a lot of character development to go through first (don't worry, a lot of it is summarized).

I decided to upload this story when I heard about the announcement of frozen 2! Here's my take on a sequel:
Over a year has passed since Elsa revealed her hidden powers, but Arendelle was not the only kingdom to get swept up in her icy storm. While Arendelle was on the verge of facing an arctic ruin, other countries had taken notice of the kingdom’s weak state. Elsa wishes to spend this summer helping her sister Anna plan a royal wedding, but The Kingdom of the North has different plans.
Alone, Arendelle will fall, the peaceful kingdom hasn’t been to war since before she was born. Elsa decides it’s time to unlock her father’s old study, seeking his works for advice. What she finds is more than an answer, a dusty journal stuffed with letters and a few dated passages near Elsa’s childhood. The pages describe a journey taken by her parents overseas, to a kingdom far into the Northeast, with a story sounding somewhat like a fairy tale. A young prince, cursed by a witch with the powers of ice and snow, had saved his family and kingdom from a war. However, he left his home years ago to travel with his kingdom's army, protecting his country and keeping peace.
Now, all Elsa has to do, is find him.
