"Specifically, I want this-" she gasped and arched her back as a cool, lithe finger found its way beneath her short silken shift and dipped into the soaked folds between her legs- "delicious little cunt pressed against my mouth, my head bracketed between your perfect thighs, watching you fall apart above me as I feast." The noise that left her was downright humiliating then, somewhere between a strangled groan and a whine. Emmrich grinned. "If you please."

It was, perhaps, too forward of him to even do this, to pen his admiration in written word then retch it at her feet — too much, too sudden, indelicate and indecent. He had not been meant to see the drawing, and an ugly feeling akin to guilt gnawed in his gut. He had placed it back, tucked it right under the same book at the same angle, and then ran to his room as if he were afraid of being caught. And now, his quill lingered too long on the paper and the ink fell in droplets, obscuring her name.
The ink ran, then dried, unfurling like petals.
Petals. An epiphany.

Emmrich dreams of the sound of his name being called, or the simple knowledge that there is someone who cares for him in the next room. It should be a relief from vivid nightmares of his mortal demise, but it is not. His heart breaks upon awakening.
Because it all dissipates with cruel rapidity when he opens his eyes to the weak light and is again a lonesome speck, sighing stale air in a cavernous hall of countless dead.

He lets out a gentle snort of laughter and turns to fix her with a quirked eyebrow. “You're incorrigible.”
She takes a step closer to him, into his space, and his expression softens at her nearness. “I speak only the truth,” she says, reaching up to attempt to brush those errant strands of silver back from his forehead; they fall free again as soon as she pulls away.
She cradles his face, just for a moment, just long enough to stroke her thumb along the ridge of his cheekbone, and he turns his head to kiss her palm.
“Honestly,” she says as she retreats, “I'm surprised that beautiful nose of yours alone hasn't inspired volumes of passionately amorous poetry from the lovesick masses.”
Another snort of laughter, graceless and a little flustered; he absentmindedly lifts a hand to brush over the nose in question as it turns pink.'
