Aziraphale is an alpha, but he lives as a beta. That's what he prefers and he's quite happy that way, thank you.
Crowley is an omega, and he doesn't mind at all that the angel wants to live as a beta. Finds it quite amusing, actually.
They are friends. And only friends.
Because one is a beta.
And the other will leave right out of the blue, with no reason at all, at odd times and lengths, and never another word about it.
The only explanation ever mentioned concerning it are 'hell's bells'? Probably a choir of some sort.
