Time stood still.
The battlefield faded around him. The most oppressive of silences enveloped him. Suspended in a limbo of space that felt as dense as molasses, Bumblebee wasn’t even able to sense the energy of his own Spark. All of his systems had abruptly gone into stasis. There were no enemies or allies, no purpose or peril. There was no more war. There was nothing but him and the figure lying motionless on the ground from whom he couldn’t pull his optics away.
And then, everything came crashing back.
Sam comes back to life in Egypt; Bumblebee still grieves.

Summary
When the rumors first started to circulate about the government making plans to create a new military force specializing in hunting down the Decepticons that had escaped the battle of Chicago, Sam had thought it was kind of an overkill considering that was what the NEST program was for, but he hadn't really paid that much attention to it.
Bumblebee, who had insisted rather fervently on staying by Sam's side until things calmed down and got back to normal, hadn't been particularly worried about it either.
That was why, when all things went to hell in a basket, neither of them had been prepared for it.
To survive the threat that is Cemetery Wind, Sam and Bumblebee are forced to separate. Neither of them handles it well.
