Lo’ak slowly looked up and glanced around among the treetops. “I’m not here to hurt you.” He said. “I just wanna talk—”
An arrow landed at his feet, an inch away from his big toe. He looked up abruptly, trying to spot the archer. But he found no one.
“Okay…” he started sheepishly. “So you don’t wanna talk. I understand that. But—”
Another arrow, an inch away from his other big toe.
“Okay, that’s enough.” He grunted, snatching one out of the ground and making fast paces towards the trees. “Come out now.”
OR in which Spider finally comes clean about Quaritch’s fate and Lo’ak turns violent, causing a rift between the two so big that Spider disappears in the aftermath.
Years later, Spider has almost become somewhat of a fearsome legend. He roams Pandora, forever alienated from Ewya and separated from his own. He has no one. Lo’ak has been trying to reconcile with Spider for years and finally catches wind of where he might be, so he goes and confronts him, apologizes, and attempts to make things right.
It is too late.
