When Jose realized that he was trapped forever in Oletus manor, it sent him spiraling further then he already was. His life went to shit and now he had no life at all. So when he learns that somewhere in the manor is his soulmate waiting for him it nearly broke the man. It was horrifying news more than it was happy. The Officer gave up the idea of finding, or even wanting to be with his soulmate years ago. The last thing he wanted was a soulmate to see him when he was at his worst.
When Kevin figured out (later then he should have) that his soulmate was in the manor with him, it made him nervous. He knew he had a soulmate, but it was something he never thought of, his life as a vagabond taking priority in his mind. Life long love was something he wanted more than anything but it was sectioned away for his sleep and never the day, he could barely hold a friendship for long let alone a lover. Maybe this will be a much welcomed change to that. He would love whoever the mystery survivor was and his soulmate would love him back. Kevin would have a love he only ever dreamed of.
Imagine the pairs surprise when months later they discover that their soulmate was the one man in the house they hated the most.
