Alex loves his life. He lives in an incredible place. His career is on fire. He’s newly engaged to a man who is both so attractive and so genuinely kind that sometimes he has to wonder if he’s not a figment of his own hyperactive imagination.
It’s just nothing like the life that he once envisioned for himself. He always thought that he was okay with that. People get older: they wise up, they change. The Alex of today is not Alex Claremont-Diaz at twenty-two, and that’s fine, even if they’d probably resent one another if they found themselves in the same room.
