“My mom said, uh, that his name was Buck. That he was going to go to the fire academy and that he had a—” she broke off, rubbing her own forehead, exactly where his skin went pink. “She said he went by Firehose.”
Buck didn’t need all of his coworkers to look at him in alarm; he was pretty sure he’d gone deadly pale. His daughter knew four things about him, and one of them was his old tinder profile handle. He felt a little like he was going to die.
“She’s got your eyes,” Eddie commented, unhelpfully.

He’s still speaking as Ravi leans down, picks up the remote, and hands it to Buck.
Buck manages to look away from the phone—from Eddie—for long enough to grin thankfully at Ravi and instinctively say, “Thanks, honey.”
Eddie stops, mid-sentence. Just… stops.

“Nah,” he hears Buck say, walking back in the living room, “Not if you don’t want to. I’m not yet!”
To which Jee starts laughing.
“What?” Buck asks, his voice infected by her laughter.
“Yes, you are! Don’t be silly!”
“Am I?”
“With uncle Eddie!”
Eddie chokes on his drink, which catches Buck’s attention. He looks at Eddie wide eyed, then back at Jee. “Jee, we’re not married.”
“Yes! Like aunt Hen and aunt Karen!”

Eddie glances back up and finds Buck’s attention already fixed on him in the mirror. Buck smiles at him, eyes big and wide and sparkly, as he holds his hands up and asks-
“What do you think?”
Eddie’s gaze flickers between Buck’s eyes, and the blue, purple, and pink heart that’s been placed ever so carefully on his cheek, just beneath his left eye. It draws Eddie’s attention to Buck’s birthmark - to the lovely, pink angel kiss that he always wants to reach out and touch…to press his lips to. Buck looks so good that Eddie can’t keep it to himself.

Summary
Eddie finally has his son back, living with him full time. They still have some issues to work out, some hard conversations need to be had, but they begin to find their routine. So why does Eddie still feel like something is missing?
After months of "learning how to be alone", Buck decides he's finally ready to try dating again. It ends up being about as disastrous as you'd expect.
When Eddie and Chris surprise Buck by coming to visit in LA for a week, Buck has a revelation about how he truly feels about his "straight" best friend. If he can just act normal, everything will end up alright.

Buck winces, taking a seat opposite her at the table. “So… I might have chickened out on the whole ‘telling Eddie I’m in love with him’ thing.”
“Buck…”
“I know, I know,” he mumbles, burying his face in his hands.
“And here I was thinking you’d spent the night in his bed when you weren’t home by eleven.”
Buck slowly lifts his head. “Well…”
Athena snorts. “You’re kidding.”
“Friends can share a bed,” Buck says in an attempt to justify the situation. “Eddie and I shared a bed in quarantine, it’s not weird.”

Pulse rabbiting in his ears, Eddie’s jaw ticks. “He spent the night.”
“Yeah, but that wasn’t even the problem, really,” Buck says, exasperated. “Eddie—he told me that he dumped me because of you.”
The tune in his ears shifts from rushing blood straight to television static. “He what?”

Eddie’s mouth quirked into a smile, showing a dimple, and it was literally heroic of Buck to leave the house with all that going on. “Tell Maddie,” Eddie offered. “Swear her to secrecy. And we’ll just keep it to ourselves until Chris is back on Friday.”
He was so smart. His best friend was so smart and also wanted to kiss him and also said they were practically engaged.
“Good plan,” said Buck, fighting gravity to continue his way out the door. “It’s just one week. How hard could it be?”

Eddie presses a firm kiss to Buck's lips before ducking off into the crowd, and Buck watches him go with a dazed look on his face.
“You guys are kissing now?” Chris asks curiously. “I didn’t think he’d told you yet.”
That drags Buck back to reality.
“Huh?” he says. “Told me what?”
Chris raises an eyebrow. “Dad’s told you how he feels, right?”
“It’s just been the kissing actually,” Buck admits, still a little out of it. “I don’t think he’s fully aware he’s doing it?”

Buck freezes.
He turns, and there’s Diaz—Dr. Arrogant Himself—striding toward them in dark blue scrubs, exuding confidence like he owns the place.
“Why are you here?” Buck blurts out before he can stop himself.
Diaz doesn’t even glance at him. “Where’s the patient?” he repeats, addressing Bobby instead.
Sure, Eddie Diaz is a surgeon. Fine. But this is their domain—firefighters saving lives in impossible situations—and Buck can’t shake the feeling that Diaz doesn’t trust them to handle it. The arrogance practically radiates off him, rubbing Buck raw with every calm, clipped instruction.

“No, no, no! Arthur, it’s alright!” Merlin said as he moved (because obviously he ignored Arthur’s orders and moved) in front of the desk. “She’s just saying hello!”
“That’s a dragon.” Arthur informed him. Merlin looked over his shoulder for a moment.
“No, it isn’t.”
There was a pause.
“Yes, it is.”
“No.” Merlin shook his head. “It…Uh, is not…A dragon.”
“Then what the Hell is it?!” Arthur asked, not letting his eyes drift away from the fire breathing demon. Yeah. That was definitely a dragon. Merlin clicked his tongue before also staring behind him.
“It is…A…Bird…”
There was another pause.
“You’re really sticking with that?”
“I am, thank you.”
Or
Merlin has to convince the King of Camelot that he is not, in fact, in possession of a dragon. Luckily, the rest of the kingdom has already been won over by the baby dragon and is quite willing to aid in this quest.
