Felicia leaned in close again. “Really?” She murmured, “Is that why you’ve been glaring at the happy couple like they murdered your puppy?”
To his horror, Miles felt tears welling up again. He turned away harshly.
“It’s okay,” Felicia said far softer than he would’ve expected from her, “Though I admit I am surprised. How long have you carried a torch for Red?”
“What?”
Felicia paused. “Red. Mary Jane. Peter’s blushing bride?” She pointed at the redhead in question.
Miles’s bewilderment grew even further. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Felicia fell silent as she peered at him scrutinizingly, cocking her head to the side. Miles quickly averted his gaze, making eye contact with a woman being dipped by her dance partner. He offered her an awkward smile before glancing back down to the cup in his hand.
“Wait,” Felicia whispered, “Peter?”
