    I’ve never understood people’s fears about “dying alone” meaning they didn’t want to die single. Almost no humans I know of perished at the exact same time as their romantic partners unless they were both caught in the same catastrophic shuttle crash or something.

    As for me, I never wanted to “die alone” meaning I got abandoned on an alien planet by my clients because it was too much of a pain to load the broken leaking SecUnit into the cargo hold. So, yunno. Perspective.

    “His name is Cloud,” she says, like she nearly forgot to mention it. “Cloud Strife.” Desmond gets a fleeting mental image of wild-looking blond hair and a disgruntled expression, which is kind of funny.

    “Hell of a name,” he says.

    “He’s, um…” He means a lot to her, in complicated ways. “He might not… remember stuff… correctly. You’ll keep an eye on him, won’t you?” she asks a little bit desperately.

    “I mean, I don’t really have any guardian angel-type powers in the Grey,” says Desmond. “Otherwise I’d be watching Earth like reality TV all the time, believe me.”

    “Ah,” says Aerith. “About that."

    Various unconnected post-CW scenarios in which the ex-Avengers get what’s coming to them, turn on each other, get slapped in the face with the truth that Tony’s doing fine without them, etc. Some fantastical and unbelievable, some more realistic. Basically fuel for my bitter, bitter post-Civil War heart. Mostly oneshots with a few multi-chapter ones thrown in. All will be Team Cap negative (particularly Steve and Wanda) but generally Bucky neutral/positive.
