Summary
Arthur caught sight of Merlin when there were maybe fifteen of them left. He faltered, jaw dropping open, and it was pure luck the man charging at him had terrible aim, or he would’ve failed out of the melee right then and there. Pulling himself together, he made quick work of his attacker, before putting some distance between himself and the others to collect himself. And, perhaps, to stare just a little.

So very long. Remus the little shit. I enjoy that he gets to be a rough person instead of just the gentle one. I love the complexity of his werewolf situation. The different magic. The anger. James was perfect; so was Lily. Canon romance for them and one of the only ones I can stand. Theyre so sweet and so confused and so young, the lot of them. To see the war after getting to know them as children was horrendous. I cried. Took me about 2 weeks. Had to take breaks closer to the end because I knew what was coming with James and Lily and I almost couldn't bear it. Remus and Sirius are complicated right up the end, but i enjoyed that too. Sirius also got to be a traumatized person in this one, in a way he so rarely isnt.

This has actually fundamentally altered my brain chemistry. The world building for this is such a joy and I fucking love their cheaters. This is actually just Canon in my head. Its heavy on the political intrigue and the romance isnt actually very slow at all lol but its fine. Made me cry, made me laugh, took me 2 tried to get through but it was well beyond worth the length. One I dont think ill ever forget having read.
