James slid to the floor across from him. It came with the easiness of familiarity that rooted itself deep into the body. Memories locked in muscle. They’d sat like this countless of times; a stance reserved for drunken nonsense after a long night out, for confessions, for musings and fears, for pockets of comfortable silence, for nothing but the radio.
This was the James from back then—perpetually sun-soaked, worry-less James—who handed out his little mercies and bathed you in light.

After watching his life go up in flames, quite literally, Peter's life is uprooted. Legally deceased, a runaway, and scrambling to maintain himself physically and mentally. Fake till you make it. All he has left is his identity as Spider-Man. Best of all? The Avengers thought it would be nice to have issues with Spider-Man. Being chased by the Avengers is just an icing on the cake of Peter's new life.
