    “Exactly like an adult human man. He’s got greyer hair than you, looks like he might be in his fifties.”

    Percy squinted and paused. “At camp? Is this another Tantalus situation?”

    “Not that we can tell. He’s the new swords instructor. I don’t think he’s as good as you.”

    “So if he’s not a spirit, did Chiron just like, pick up a mortal?”

    “He says he’s a demigod.”

    Percy stilled. “That’s impossible.”

    “He’s suspicious, is what he is. Says his name is Quintus. Has a hellhound named Mrs. O’Leary. Was mildly shocked when we barely blinked at her. I think the top bet right now is that he’s actually you from the future.”

    This are heating up in the demigod world as the titan army gathers. Clarisse is looking for something in the Maze, tensions are rising, and apparently there's a middle aged demigod running around that Percy's torn between obsessing over and hating on principle. No one knows who to trust, and a malevolent force is writhing beneath their feet...

    “Hey,” one of the slowly gathering campers called, “he’s got a sword!”

    Like a rallying cry, campers started pouring out of the woodworks and Jake took a step back.

    “Hey,” a tall blond boy yelled, “don’t crowd him! Back up, back up…”

    “Oh, come off it, Luke,” a girl rolled her eyes, “you’re only chill because you’re probably going to get the story first!”

    “Um,” Jake swallowed, “story?”

    Chiron tried his best to shoo the campers away with a disappointed stare, but while a few of them shrank back, most stood firm.

    “Yes,” a younger blond girl folded her arms, eyeing him, “we want to know about your encounter with the wandering swordsman.”

    There's a demigod out there, somewhere, that no one can find. But because of him (and his really, really shitty swords), demigods who otherwise wouldn't have, have made it to camp. A daughter of Dionysus, a son of Apollo, a daughter of Athena, at least one in every cabin.

    Where is he? Who is he?

    (Percy thinks everyone's being dramatic. He's not that cool, and Kelli is more than happy to tell him that. Frequently. Ugh.)

    “I could call the others”, Jay reflected for a moment, for the first time in the whole situation. He could shout and they'd come running immediately, he believed. Or maybe they'd think he was overreacting and give him enough time to handle it on his own. Maybe he could. He already longed to step forward, even if it was just to see what this was all about, if this was really happening and not just some kind of dream after the blow to the head.

    “It’ll just be a glimpse", Jay told himself, without much conviction. The temptation, the curiosity, something bigger than himself that tingled through his body, were more overwhelming.

    He didn't know why he was doing this.

    Jay entered.

    So, Poseidon would admit he was lost.

    Odysseus had tricked him. Again. Despite the way the man had been all but trapped in Poseidon’s domain, Athena’s precious ‘Warrior of the Mind’ had not yet run out of luck and Poseidon was suffering for it. The coward refused to extend proper mercy, didn’t stand like a hero, and now used trickery to run from an honorable death. False righteousness, not even finishing the job.

    Yet Poseidon had chased him down, following him into the cave Odysseus’s ship had sailed into. Or, the cave he thought Odysseus’s ship had sailed into.

    He wasn’t sure anymore. This was most certainly not Greece anymore.

    EPIC: The Musical's Poseidon lands in the PJO verse and decides that if the local Poseidon is not going to raise his son, then he's going to do it. Percy is just happy to have a dad that wants to take him to drown ferries of tourists.
